Vital Signs Information System
Vital Signs is a project of Conservation International in partnership with the Earth Institute, Columbia University, and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South Africa (CSIR). Its goal is to create an integrated monitoring system for key indicators of agricultural development, human well-being and ecosystem services to enable advanced information- and knowledge-based decison-making towards sustainable development in Africa. The project is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Community Commons assisted Conservation International with the development of Vital Signs information system design, and conducted a cyberinfrastructure needs assessment and system design workshop.
